For the Autumn‑Winter 2026 season, Maximilian Davis broadens his exploration of Ferragamo’s origins by returning to the artistic and cultural landscape of the 1920s — the decade in which the House was born. Through his refined contemporary lens, the designer reinterprets the era’s sense of liberation, drawing inspiration from the speakeasy: a space where class, identity and convention dissolved, and where diverse characters gathered after hours. Within this environment, the collection unfolds as a dialogue between utilitarian discipline and liberated elegance, merging historically grounded techniques with modern silhouettes and experimental textures.

A central motif emerges from sailor clothing — garments worn by those who crossed the water in search of new beginnings. This reference echoes both Salvatore Ferragamo’s journey from Italy to America and Davis’s own family history, spanning Trinidad, Jamaica and Manchester. Uniforms become catalysts for reinvention: deconstructed forms, displaced buttons and undone fastenings shift their functional codes into a new, expressive aesthetic. These nautical foundations seamlessly blend with the collection’s more fluid elements, creating an interplay between structure and movement.
Footwear plays a decisive role in shaping the season’s narrative. A new pointed stiletto and a deep‑vamp sling‑back — both inspired by a 1954 archival design — reinterpret Ferragamo’s legacy with refined sharpness. Their contrasts recall nautical codes or are embellished with jewel‑like details. The House’s pioneering “shell sole” technique from the 1950s, where the sole wraps around the foot, informs the curvilinear lines of the season’s hybrid‑heel sandals, merging heritage and innovation with sculptural sensitivity.
