Handmade by skilled artisans in 160 production steps, the Tramezza's thick, flexible leather layer in between the upper and sole molds comfortably to the foot's shape, a technique Salvatore Ferragamo patented in the 1920s.
The Tramezza is the result of hundreds of artisanal steps executed with rhythm and precision, elevated by the technique that gives it its name. “Tramezza” means “something in between”: a soft leather insert is expertly placed between the insole and the sole, creating a structure that combines stability with absolute comfort. Reinforced by architectural solutions invented by Salvatore Ferragamo, this construction balances body weight and molds to the foot like a glove. Every detail is designed to last and to express elegance every time the shoe is laced: the Tramezza is the ultimate expression of a gentleman’s handcrafted shoe.
