An icon across generations

Born in 1978 from the vision of Fiamma Ferragamo, Vara is more than a shoe: it is a symbol of timeless femininity. Low heel, rounded toe, grosgrain bow: an icon of elegance, comfort and versatility worn by generations of women. Today, the collection renews this legacy with a contemporary spirit, including ballerinas, pumps and slingbacks designed to accompany women through the different moments of their day.

From Fiamma’s gesture to an eternal icon

In 1978, Fiamma Ferragamo imagined a shoe that could be both practical and elegant, able to keep pace with everyday life. From this vision, Vara was born - a model that over the years has become a timeless icon, passed down from generation to generation while never losing its essence.

The bow was born almost by chance

For the first prototype, a ribbon found in the atelier was added as a simple decoration. What seemed like a temporary detail soon became the defining sign of the shoe: the grosgrain bow, today one of Ferragamo’s most beloved symbols.
