A rhythmic and precise procession of artisanal shoemaking steps— hundreds of them—are elevated with the special technique of Tramezza to create the ultimate in a handcrafted men’s shoe by the same name.
The craftsmanship experience continues in Milan at Design Week 2025, within the Uomo boutique on Via Monte Napoleone. Here, a striking red scenographic setup creates a dialogue between tradition and innovation, with authentic tools and precious materials telling the story of the brand’s artisanal mastery.
At the center, a podium highlights Ferragamo's iconic heritage, including the famous shoes worn by Andy Warhol, a timeless symbol of style.
From Tuesday, April 8th to Saturday, April 12th, between 11:00 AM and 7:30 PM, an artisan will demonstrate the live process of creating the maison’s iconic men’s footwear. It’s a unique opportunity to rediscover craftsmanship with a visionary perspective, celebrating the value of Made in Italy.
The Ferragamo windows pay tribute to unique creations such as the Tramezza. Through captivating large-scale installations, the intricate craftsmanship is brought to the fore, accentuating the purity of the lines and the perfection of the shapes. The Tramezza, magnified to showcase every stitch, curve, and detail, is brought into focus like never before. This oversized display highlights the artistry behind Ferragamo’s most exclusive shoe.
Meaning ‘something in between’, the Tramezza is constructed with a perfect bonding from the lower to the upper, by means of layering a soft leather insert between the insole and the sole. Reinforced by shoe architecture functionalities invented by the shoemaker of dreams himself, Salvatore Ferragamo, this shoe centers the wearer’s bodyweight to keep the foot stable as well as contours to fit the wearer’s feet with the comfort of a glove. The Tramezza is the pinnacle of a gentleman’s handcrafted shoe, designed to look elegant every time they are laced up. Ferragamo's timeless craftsmanship techniques are also behind the Hug Bag and the Ballerina.
