Pump
Duchessa
Pump in suede and calfskin. This model was created for Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor. Salvatore Ferragamo wrote in his autobiography: "I have divided the women who have come to me in three categories: the Cinderellas, the Venuses and the Aristocrats. The Cinderellas all wear shoes under size 6. The Venuses wear a 6; the Aristocrats 7 or over". Amongst the Cinderellas, there was also the Duchess of Windsor, who wore a 5B. This model inspired a shoe created for Nicole Kidman in the film Australia.

Calipso
Sandal with satin upper, metal buckle and cage-like high heel. From 1956 on, Salvatore Ferragamo launched a series of patents to change the shape of the heel and enable the same shoe to be worn on many different occasions. It in fact introduced sheaths, ie. linings of the heel, some only partial, made of thin metal, plastic or satin with applications and rhinestones. Each model could be given a new appearance simply by changing the type of sheath. This period also saw the patenting of cage heels made of metal wire (usually brass).
Bootie — 1940
Parade
Lace-up shoe in suede and fur. The model was created by Salvatore Ferragamo in 1940 and later reprised for ‘Carol’, Todd Haynes’s 2015 film starring Cate Blanchett.
